HYY is looking for a communications intern to become a part of its communications team that realises the Student Union’s communications for the rest of the year. As our communications intern, you will get to see influencer communications, student politics and advocacy work in action.
The intern’s duties include tasks related to the Student Union’s routine communications, such as updating and coordinating social media, editing texts, media monitoring, compiling the newsletter for members and other tasks. The intern will be working closely with HYY’s communications specialist and AD as well as the members of the Student Union’s Board in charge of communications.
We expect you to have:
Suitable higher education studies from communication studies or journalism, for instance.
Excellent Finnish skills. Good skills in Swedish and English are considered advantages.
A bold and innovative attitude.
A readiness to learn and manage new issues.
Good teamwork skills.
Experience of social media content production.
Experience of photography and/or graphic skills.
A student union that serves around 27,000 students of the University of Helsinki.
An encouraging and inspiring work community that includes 8 specialists and a board consisting of 12 students, among others.

The internship lasts for 3 months. Working time is 30 hours a week. The place of employment is HYY’s Central Office. The internship is paid, a salary is €1308/month.
