The decision-making organs of the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) on the foundation level are the Board of Directors and the Council. The Council meets twice a year in order to approve the annual report, balance sheet and income statement, as well as the plan of action, budget and the long-term economic plan. The Council also appoints the Board of Directors. The term of the current Council will end on 31 Dec 2015. The term of the new Council is 1 Jan 2016-31 Dec 2017. The Council operates in Finnish.
The council consists of a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 30 members. The Ministry of Education and Culture, the National Institute for Health and Welfare, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities and the personnel of the Finnish Student Health Service each appoint one representative to the Council, the universities appoint one representative and the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) appoints 18 representatives, of which 16 based on proposals of the student unions. Members for FSHS Council are appointed for two years at a time.
SYL has requested HYY to nominate two candidates for FSHS Council. Based on the nominations, SYL will appoint one of HYY's representatives to the Council.
HYY is now looking for two candidates for the FSHS Council for the term of office 2016–2017. An informal application should include the applicant's competence and motivation to operate in the Council and the possibility to commit themselves to the position for the entire two-year term. We also expect the applicants to cooperate with HYY. Know-how in FSHS and student health care is considered an advantage. We hope to receive applications from persons with different backgrounds.
If you are interested in the position, please submit your application to HYY's registry office (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Wed, 5 Nov. Please also attach your CV, full name (all first names and surname), email address, address, place of domicile and your personal identity number. HYY Board aims to decide on the candidates proposed to SYL and their order of priority at its meeting on 12 Nov.
