The Indonesia project for the years of 2013-2015 is the continuation of the previous project of HYY and Payo-Payo implemented in 2009-2011. The new project aims at influencing agricultural policy in Sulawesi, providing better agricultural methods for farmers, improving post-production methods and teaching farmers to work collectively. The project is directed at smallholders and landless farmers in three villages in South and West Sulawesi. The project plans to form villages that are adequately self-sufficient in terms of the use of natural resources and livelihoods, which provide inhabitants with a sustainable business. 85 % of the project funds are allocated by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Finland and the excess share of 15 % is covered by HYY’s 0.7 % budget.
